About Us

Healing Hands started with Dr. Carissa Haverly and a big idea: vet visits should feel like you’ve walked into a place that knows you, not a maze of mystery. So we designed a hospital where comfort, clarity, and real conversation are standard.Think of us as your pet’s health team and partners in care. We listen, explain, and partner with you on choices that fit your family. Along the way, we keep learning too, because great care grows with curiosity. That’s the heart of Healing Hands.

About Healing Hands Veterinary Hospital in Carver, MN

At Healing Hands, design follows purpose. We set 40-minute appointments so you get real time with your team to talk, think, and choose the next best step without a rush. Cats and dogs have their own exam rooms and wards, which keeps the whole visit calmer. We also traded the traditional waiting room for a smoother, quieter arrival because peace of mind should start at the door.

Our care blends compassion with strong medicine. Wellness, urgent visits, advanced surgery, dentistry, senior support, and end-of-life care are planned around your pet’s needs and your family’s routine. We explain as we treat so you leave confident, informed, and supported.

We keep growing with the same compass that started it all. Dr. Carissa Haverly’s vision guides our choices each day. Aim high in standards. Make room for learning. Build a place where pets and people feel at home.

Meet Dr. Carissa Haverly, DVM

Dr. Carissa Haverly grew up in Prescott, Arizona, a small town with a rich cowboy history tucked into the Arizona chaparral. As a child, she dreamed of being an artist, which suited her sensitive and creative demeanor. However, her parents must have known she was meant to be a veterinarian because the name Carissa means “a tender touch.” Carissa always loved animals, and growing up, she had several pocket pets, dogs, cats, and even a horse.  Every summer, her clubhouse would become home to local wildlife in need of aid. Once they were healthy, they were returned to the wild.

Dr. Carissa attended Northern Arizona University and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology and a minor in Studio Art. Afterward, she attended the University of Minnesota and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.

As an adult, Dr. Carissa loves surrounding herself with living beings. She shares her home with four cats, one dog, tropical fish, a tortoise, four beautiful horses, and an incredibly understanding husband.
